Adobe Apollo
Posted: 19/12/06
I've been having a play with Apollo recently, as I was lucky enough to get on the Adobe pre-release programme. The Apollo runtime is aiming to give Microsoft's WPF a run for it's money, and given it's pretty much platform independent, I think they're half-way there!
Having already built a number of apps in Flex 2, deploying as an Apollo app is very easy, and because there is a revised security sandbox, calls to web services from the desktop are a doddle!
Apollo will be landing some time in quarter 3 next year, with some alphas and betas on Adobe Labs around spring.
